NRO and BMF Joint Concert
Saturday, July 26th, 7:30pm – Breck Riverwalk Center

The National Repertory Orchestra and the Breckenridge Music Festival join forces each year for an exciting evening of collaboration and fun.  Carl Topilow, NRO Music Director, will start the evening with “Fantasia On A Theme By Thomas Tallis”, a piece by Williams that is set for two string orchestras, mimicking the two choirs used in the church music of that time.  Then Maestro Topilow will lead the joint orchestras through Ravel’s “Rapsodie Espagnole”.

The second part of the show will be conducted by Gerhardt Zimmerman, BMF Music Director.  Maestro Zimmerman has chosen Strauss’ “Ein Heldenleben” (A Hero’s Life), a huge tone poem that is very demanding of the orchestra.
