Bio:
Yuen Ying is a violinist from Hong Kong. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music at the McGill University studying with JinJoo Cho. She received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from University of Toronto, where she studied with Annalee Patipatanakoon. In her free time, she enjoys cuddling with her cat and dog and watching surgery videos.
What inspired you to become a musician?
A sparkle in the eyes of an audience who dressed in service uniform when he heard the WWII song we were playing

Sergei Rachmaninoff, Dmitri Shostakovich – they think outside the box
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
Broke my violin once and had a mini funeral with the violin faculty.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Walking my dog and get his energy all out before I do.

I look forward to making good times and memories in the mountains. The hills are alive with the sound of music!
