Shia-He Lin is a graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music studying under Professor Samuel Rhodes, and previously studied with Yu-Pei Hsiao and Grace Huang at the University of Taipei. Shia-He started studying the violin at seven and began playing viola at 14. She was principal viola of Manhattan School of Music Chamber Sinfonia and University of Taipei Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Sinfonia. She received full scholarship to participate in the 2020 Guangdong Youth Yo-Yo Ma Music Festival and has attended the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy, International Kirishima Music Festival, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Masterclass in Taipei studying with Thomas Riebl, Jean Sulem, and Masami Mochizuki.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I like to play pool and swimming.

Watch all types of performances, concerts, and movies.

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I look forward to spending time this summer out of the city. I have never been to Colorado before, and I am really excited to play a lot of repertoire.
