Bio:
Originally from Long Island, New York, Michael Brennan regularly performs with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and in solo recitals all throughout the United States. Recent appearances include section violinist/violist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Hall’s “Link Up” Orchestra, and the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria. Michael began the violin at fourteen years old and completed his education at Manhattan School of Music and the University of Memphis.

What inspired you to become a musician?
There is nothing I love more than making music with other people. Music has connected me with the most incredible teachers, colleagues, and friends. I am grateful for the ability to communicate and celebrate life through music.

Who are your all-time favorite composers and/or pieces? Why?
J.S. Bach, Mozart, Mahler, Strauss, and Rachmaninov

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I also play violin!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Spending time with friends and pets.

Why did you choose the NRO?
I know NRO to be a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge and experience as an orchestral musician. This program will allow me to work under exceptional conductors and connect with talented musicians who are also pursuing a career in music. I am excited and grateful for this experience.
