Bio:
Mary Alice Hutton is known for her beautiful tone and her passion for the violin. As an orchestral player, she has performed with the Minnesota Opera and Quad Cities Symphony. She is currently the Associate Concertmaster of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in several festivals including NYSOS and Center Stage Strings. As a recording artist, Ms. Hutton has been featured on many albums. Most recently, she can be heard on the album Red (Taylor’s Version). She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Minnesota under Sally O’Reilly.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
During my lifetime so far, I have donated more than 3 feet of my hair to Locks of Love.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
My husband and I enjoy kayaking during the summer and fall. I also am an avid professional tennis fan.
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I am looking forward to learning and playing wonderful music. I’m also excited to meet and collaborate with new colleagues.
