Mark Stroud started his interest in music where he grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. In high school, Mark studied with Tracy Rowell of the Oberlin Conservatory. After graduating from Cleveland Heights High School, Mark attended the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory, where he studied with Henry Peyrebrune and Charles Carleton of the Cleveland Orchestra. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Mark completed his Master’s in Music at Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied privately with Micah Howard and in Peter Guild’s repertoire class. When Mark isn’t playing the double bass, he enjoys watching the Cleveland Indians.
What was the best meal of your life?
The best meal of my life is the sausage and beer I frequently had from a kiosk between acts at the Vienna State Opera.
