Born in Guatemala, Magalí moved to Toronto at the age of 2, and at 4, began cello. She has constantly been in an orchestra since she was 7. She completed her Bachelor’s of Music at the New England Conservatory and her Master’s of Music in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Her primary teachers include Natasha Brofsky and Alan Stepansky. Aside from music, she enjoys cooking and running.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I have three citizenships: Canada, USA and Guatemala.
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I’m very excited to make music with other people again after such a long time being separated, and to play big orchestral works with talented colleagues.
