Laressa Winters is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance at Oberlin Conservatory where she studies with Andrew Pattison. Before attending Oberlin, she studied with Monica Schwartz from 2012 until 2019. Laressa was a finalist in the 2023 Sphinx Excerpt Competition as well as the 2021 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition. In her spare time, Laressa likes to cook and play sudoku.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I like to play the saxophone!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I like to cook and watch Love is Blind (my guilty pleasure).

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I’m excited to learn how to prepare a large amount of music in a short amount of time and at such a high level. I am also excited to learn new music by living composers.
