What inspired you to become a musician?
I began performing as a mariachi musician in Tucson and seeing the impact and effect it had on the audiences, I performed for motivated me to pursue music as a career.

Who are your all-time favorite composers and/or pieces? Why?
My all-time favorite composer is Mahler because of his grand orchestration and larger than life Symphonies.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I began playing trumpet at the age of 5 in my bilingual elementary school’s mariachi program.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I enjoy skiing and skateboarding.

Why did you choose the NRO?
My dad is from Colorado, and we used to have family reunions in Breckenridge where my grandfather used to enjoy attending NRO concerts. To be able to be a part of this orchestra is truly special as I can honor my family and grandfather.
