Hyunwoo Jeoung, born in South Korea, began studying viola at the age of 12 after moving to Columbus, Ohio. Jeoung studied chamber music through Chamber Music Connection during high school, where he studied with many chamber musicians including the Cavani Quartet. Jeoung is currently pursuing a B.M. degree in viola performance at Baldwin Wallace University.

What inspired you to become a musician?
Listening to Hilary Hahn’s recording of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.

Who are your all-time favorite composers and/or pieces? Why?
Tchaikovsky violin concerto

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I can crack an egg with one hand.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I like to cook.

NRO is basically free, and provides with great opportunities and orchestral experiences.
