Gabriel Hightower is a cellist from Columbia, Maryland. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park and his Master of Music Degree from Carnegie Mellon University. His teachers have included Anne Martindale Williams, Eric Kutz, and Ben Myers. Gabriel has played with groups such as Iris Orchestra, Stamford Symphony, and members of the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I played cello in an indie rock band in Washington D.C.

Lifting weights

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I’m looking forward to being inspired and motivated by colleagues as I tackle new music, engage with the community, and take in new scenery over the course of this summer with the NRO.
