Finnegan Powers grew up near Dallas, Texas, and began his musical career in sixth grade, having been drawn to the double bass. Following high school, he began his undergraduate degree at Baylor University, studying with Dr. Sandor Ostlund. During this time, he has performed with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Waco Symphony Orchestra. This fall, he will begin his third year at Baylor.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
My favorite color is purple.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Going on walks, playing video games, watching TV shows and movies.
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I hope to further develop my orchestral skills, as there is a lot to learn from playing in such a great orchestra.
