Bio:
Claire Thai is an internationally recognized harpist, most recently having won a prestigious Anne Adams Award, Lyon and Healy Award, 1st place at the Suoni d’Arpa competition in Italy, and 1st Place at the 2019 American Harp Society competition. Other recent successes include 1st place at the 1st international Portuguese harp competition, as well as 1st place at the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar international competition. She recently graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree and will be continuing her studies at Curtis in the Master’s program.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I am a composer as well and recently performed my own concerto with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love working with computers, playing with my dogs, and exercising.

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I’m really looking forward to spending the summer in the mountains and playing some incredible repertoire!
