Carlton English Colby (b. 1996) is a colorful cellist. Growing up in Salt Lake City, UT, he began cello lessons at age 2. In 2019, Carlton completed his Honors Bachelor’s of Music degree from the University of Utah, studying with Pegsoon Whang. He is a recent graduate of the Chicago College of Performing Arts Music Conservatory at Roosevelt University, where he attained his Master’s of Music under CSO principal cellist, John Sharp.
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I’m ready to enjoy collaborating with the musicians and community this summer, and hoping that positivity and knowledge enriches the collective experience for everyone.
