Brian Slack is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree specializing in double bass performance at California State University, Long Beach. He began studying double bass at age twelve and currently studies under Douglas Basye at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. He also plays with several orchestras around Southern California including the American Youth Symphony and the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I am half Filipino and half Caucasian

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Through the exposure of new orchestral repertoire, I hope to be challenged in ways that will allow me to improve my technical and musical abilities as well as gain a better understanding of large ensemble playing.
