Bakari is a Double Bassist native to Dallas, TX. He first began his music making career when he picked up a violin at the age of 9 before switching to the Double Bass at age 13 just before starting high school. Music has led Bakari to Michigan State University, where he is currently studying to earn his Undergraduate degree in Music Performance as a part of the class of 2023.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I play jazz in contrast with classical music as well.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Exercise, Read, play sports, video games, watch shows, hang with friends

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Meeting new people and all of the music making that will happen during the 2 months.
