Molly-070213-2187Molly Jo Scott performs throughout the United States on Oboe and English horn. Having grown up in northern California and returning after her studies, she has performed with the Sacramento Philharmonic, the Santa Rosa, Vallejo, and North State Symphonies, as well as many other regional orchestras. Since moving back to Pittsburgh this year, she has performed with the Williamsburg Symphonia, the South Florida Symphony, and the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania. Under Maestro Lorin Maazel’s baton, Molly participated in the Castleton Festival for three summers, including a tour to Oman with a production of Puccini’s La Boheme.

Molly received her bachelor degree from Drake University and her master degree from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with the principal oboist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Cynthia DeAlmeida. She currently works for the San Francisco-based Baroque ensemble Musica Pacifica. Molly’s hobbies include travelling, birds and reed-making.
