From the CEO

The NRO board and staff continue to look forward to our 60th Anniversary Diamond Concert Season taking place in Breckenridge, CO during June and July. Our plans are well underway for a great celebratory festival. And while we continue to move toward this historic milestone, we also continue to monitor COVID-19 and information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as local and national government health organizations.

Like many of you, we are practicing social distancing. Our first actions were taken earlier this week, prior to the Summit School District closure, by canceling in-school performances by NRO alumni. Alumni that would have had to fly into Denver International Airport, shuttle to Summit County, and perform in front of entire school classes. Our year-round team will also telework, each person working from home for the foreseeable future.  The entire staff can still be reached during business hours by calling the office number, 970-453-5825 and following the prompts.

The landscape is ever-changing, and with these changes, the NRO will continue to adapt our plans for the 60th Season. We are working with the Town of Breckenridge, Summit County, and other governmental organizations as well as BreckCreate and the staff of the Riverwalk Center to make sure every effort is made to keep our musicians, staff, and patrons as safe as possible.

Our 60th Anniversary Diamond Concert Season begins June 12, before then I have no doubt there will be many changes to the needs and actions we will all have to take to keep our communities safe. Until that time, and beyond, the entire NRO family will continue to stay abreast of those changes and will make adjustments as necessary, always keeping in mind health and safety.
