These are indeed unusual times. I hope this note finds you and your loved ones well.  Because we are all experiencing the impacts of a novel virus together, I would like to share with you the NRO’s plans for our 60th Anniversary Diamond Concert Season and how we are preparing for COVID-19. These updates will be on-going since so much is changing so often.

We continue to comply with the direction given by Summit County Public Health, The Town of Breckenridge, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the Centers for Disease Control. The Town and County are doing amazing work keeping residents safe and healthy. Summit County issued a public health order that included temporarily prohibiting large gatherings, closures of non-essential businesses, public transportation suspensions, and encouraging non-residents to relocate to their primary residences. View the orderVail Resorts and other ski areas have suspended operations with Breckenridge (in Summit County) possibly re-opening at the end of April.

On a happier note, our entire orchestra has been hired.  Our program planning is nearly complete, and tickets are about to go on sale. We remain excited about the season, our 60th Anniversary celebration, and the return of Alumni and past NRO supporters.

This season, rather than a film with a live orchestra, we will be performing Cirque de la Symphonie showcasing our musicians, jugglers, acrobats, and strong men. This concert will be great fun and a unique experience for all.  I hope you can join us. Though our ticket policy has always been non-refundable, we feel during these unprecedented times, we should be offering the ability for our audience’s plans to change without penalty. Look for specific guidelines in updates and announcements in our newsletter, on social media platforms, and at NROmusic.org.

We are all a family, and as such, we need to take care of each other. Please practice social distancing, act as if you may be carrying the virus, and do not want to give it to anyone else.

Remain vigilant and be safe,

Dave
