The National Repertory Orchestra is proud to bring you our fourth and final guest conductor of the season, Jeffrey Kahane.  Mr. Kahane will not only conduct two great pieces (“Piano Concerto No. 4” by Beethoven and “Symphony No. 1” by Mahler), but he will also perform the piano solo during the first half of the concert.

“Pictures at an Exhibition” – Season Finale!
Friday, August 1st, 7:30pm – Breck Riverwalk Center

For this final performance of the season, The National     Repertory Orchestra ignites the stage with two epic arrangements.  First, “Don Quixote, Opus 35 – Fantastic Variations on a Theme of Knightly Character” by Richard Strauss is presented in three parts: an introduction, the theme and variations, and the finale.  The character of Don Quixote is principally the cello, played by Sean Hawthorne, and Sancho Panza is presented as the viola later in the piece, soloed by Nicole Christian.

The evening will conclude with a dramatic and powerful ten part performance of “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky.
