The NRO is happy to welcome back Emily Tuan as our Orchestra Manager for the 2014 season!
A graduate of the Colburn Conservatory of Music, Emily will receive her Master of Music degree in flute performance in May from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Emily has focused the majority of her education on the concertizing aspects of the performing arts industry. Emily’s passion in arts administration emerged from her community service experience in event planning and operations. A native and resident of Southern California, Emily currently works with the Pacific Symphony in Orange County as the Youth Wind Ensemble Manager.
Emily’s first leadership experience was devoted to creating and project managing a children’s summer camp in 2011 for K-5 attendees. By using the animated film “How to Train Your Dragon”, Emily constructed a full itinerary to educate children about exhibiting courage and compassion even when “against all odds”. Prior to the camp, she administered a leadership session to enforce the themes teamwork and communication on all counselors and staff members.
After her rewarding experience as the Personnel Intern of the National Repertory Orchestra in 2013, Emily is looking forward to return as Orchestra Manager.
