Amelia Brynne Merriman was born and raised in Sharpsburg, Georgia. She is currently a fellow with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She attended the Yale School of Music for her Master’s of Musical Arts and the University of Georgia for her Bachelor’s of Music. Teachers include Stephen Taylor and Reid Messich. She holds the second oboe position with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra and frequently performs with her chamber ensemble, the Marea Duo. She has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and the Round Top Music Festival, among several others.
