Part of the NRO’s mission is to prepare its musicians for their professional careers in major orchestras. To support this, most of the concerts performed are of traditional, classical nature interspersed with contemporary, complementary works.
Many of these concerts feature Music Director Carl Topilow while several others showcase incredible guest conductors from professional orchestras across the country. Select NRO musicians are also given the opportunity to perform as virtuoso soloists throughout the season.
In addition to our Classical Series, the NRO performs popular music concerts, like our famous Topilow Pops! concert and July 4th celebrations. From the music of Hollywood and Broadway, to grand Americana and modern radio hits, there’s sure to be something you’ll love!
In 2018, the NRO added its annual “Film with Live Orchestra” concert to this series where you can watch a classic Hollywood movie while the entire orchestra performs the score live. Be sure to get your tickets early as these concerts often sell out!
Music for Everyone!
Every year, the National Repertory Orchestra performs more than 25 FREE Community Engagement events throughout Summit County and beyond. Small ensembles visit local libraries, schools, hospitals, senior centers, and public venues to share their love of music with a broader audience.
