The National Repertory Orchestra is an 88-piece orchestra that performs roughly two full orchestral concerts per week during its 8-weeks residency. As part of the NRO’s mission, most of the concerts performed are of a traditional classical nature often with new and interesting works complementing the programs. Many of these concerts feature Music Director, Carl Topilow, while several others showcase incredible guest conductors from professional orchestras across the country. During a rigorous audition process, NRO musicians are also given the opportunity to perform as virtuoso soloists.
The National Repertory Orchestra also performs popular music concerts, including the famous Topilow Pops! and July 4th celebrations. They typically range from the music of Hollywood and Broadway, to grand Americana, to modern radio hits! In 2018, the NRO added it’s annual “Film with Live Orchestra” concert to this series, where you can watch a classic Hollywood movie while the entire orchestra performs the score live in front of you. Be sure to get your tickets early as these concerts often sell out!
Music For Everyone! Every year, the National Repertory Orchestra performs More Than 25 FREE Community Engagement events throughout Summit County and beyond. Small ensemble groups visit local libraries, schools, hospitals, senior centers and public venues to reach a broader audience and share their love of music! Of these events, the ones that are open to the public will be posted in this location in the late winter or spring. Please check back at that time.
A very special thank you to our generous 2018 community engagement sponsors:
