Rick Poppe

Rick is the son of a career Air Force employee and a school teacher and spent much of his youth living in a number of states in the central U.S. He graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, followed by service in the Texas National Guard.

Most of his career was with a large employee owned commercial construction business with offices from south Florida to Guam. While there he served in many positions including Construction Manager, Vice President of Marketing, Rocky Mountain President, and Chief Strategic Officer of the corporation. He retired from full time employment in 2008, and currently continues to work within the construction industry as a mediator, master arbitrator, expert witness, and owners’ representative.

Rick has been involved in a number of industry and community organizations including Board of Director positions with the Denver Area Boy Scout Council, Central City Opera Association, Denver YMCA, Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Community College of Aurora Foundation, South East Business Partnership, Associated General Contractors of America and Colorado, and a Colorado pharmaceutical manufacturer.

He and his wife, Jana Edwards a clinical social worker in private practice, split their time between homes in Denver and Summit County. Both are very involved in various community and musical arts programs and organizations. They are the proud parents of two children and two grandchildren.
