Patrice Lara

The daughter of an Air Force career officer, Patrice spent her early years (through high school) traveling around the country. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Sociology and Secondary Education, and pursued a Masters of Arts Management at American University in Washington, DC.

A love of music and the arts led Patrice to volunteer for a fledgling opera production in Tiburon, California where she later served as an incorporator of the Marin Opera Company in 1978. Upon moving to Virginia, she was offered the new position of Director of Development for the Fairfax Symphony. After five years at the Symphony she moved on to the travel industry, working in business development as an Account Executive at a corporate travel agency in Washington, DC.

Firmly committed to community service, Patrice has served on the Advisory Board of Youth For Tomorrow, a residential home and school for at-risk teenage boys and girls in Bristow, VA, for more than twenty years. In Summit County, she has served as President of the Summit County Garden Club and volunteered for Breckenridge Ski Resort Guest Services, the BMF/Applause, and Summit County Hospice.

Patrice and her husband Ron bought a home in Summit County in 1998 and currently split their time between Colorado and Virginia. She is passionate about music, photography, gardening and her seven grandchildren.
