Janey Trowbridge is so fortunate to have been surrounded by music her entire life. Her parents and grandfather were amateur musicians. Janey has enjoyed being a substitute accompanist at numerous places where she and husband Russ lived overseas and now here in Breckenridge where she also performs at Summit County Piano Club parties. A half-time resident of Breck for almost 20 years, she and husband Russ have actively supported music organizations here and in Austin, Texas, where they live the other half of the year. For example, Janey was on Breckenridge Music Festival’s fundraising committee for over a decade and was chair for three years.
The Trowbridge’s have hosted brass brunch fundraisers most recently for the NRO. Their devotion to the development of music in young people also springs from long-time encouragement of their two daughters who are professional musicians. Before her retirement Janey got her Ph.D. in Communication and worked as a management consultant and instructor in the private sector and in academia in the US and abroad.
