Parker Olson

Originally from Atlanta, Parker Olson was a student of Charles Settle, Bill Wilder, and Tom Sherwood. He went on to study with Dan Bauch of the Boston Symphony for his Bachelor’s degree on a Presidential Distinction Award at the New England Conservatory. Olson is currently a substitute percussionist with the Billings Symphony and has attended the Aspen Music Festival for two summers. He will pursue his Master’s at NEC with Will Hudgins and Matt McKay on a Dean’s Scholarship.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I enjoy reading and writing poetry since my grandmother introduced me to Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson when I was younger. I used to share poems with her and have enjoyed studying poetry while in Boston at NEC.
