What inspired you to become a musician?
Hearing my future high school’s wind ensemble perform for the first time when I was 12 or 13 made me fall in love with ensemble music.

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Sergei Rachmaninoff and Olivier Messiaen.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I very nearly quit clarinet in 7th grade and switched to percussion!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Stressing out over Chicago Cubs games.

Why did you choose the NRO?
I chose the NRO because of the rigorous, professional experience it offers for young orchestral musicians like myself, along with the opportunity to meet, collaborate with, and be inspired by other likeminded artists.
