What inspired you to become a musician?
There was a youth orchestra that came to my elementary school to perform, and I fell in love with the sound of the violins!
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
My all-time favorites are Brahms and Sibelius. I love how intimate the music feels, especially the symphonies.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I play on an Italian violin made in the 1700s, which I started playing on in high school and have kept ever since.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love to read, hike, and explore new cafes and restaurants.
Why did you choose the NRO?
I have always really loved playing in an orchestra, and I am hoping to expand my orchestral repertoire and experience with the NRO. I aspire to play in a professional symphony orchestra, so this is a great experience for me to refine those skills and have a rigorous rehearsal and concert schedule. I am also really looking forward to meeting new colleagues and fellows who are on a similar path as me and be able to learn from them and their experiences as well.
