What inspired you to become a musician?
I can never forget the feeling of playing in an orchestra. The energy and connection with other musicians inspired me to pursue music.

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Gustav Mahler, because his music always brings out my emotional and passionate side.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I’m Taiwanese and speak Mandarin, but I don’t really listen to Chinese music. Interestingly, because I’m really interested in Korean culture, I actually understand and speak Korean better than English.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Watch Korean dramas or programs, take a walk, and cooking.

Why did you choose the NRO?
I was part of NRO last summer and I really loved the experience. I met many wonderful people, learned a lot about myself as a musician, and played a lot of great repertoire. Also, Colorado is a beautiful place to spend the summer.
