As a medal winner in numerous international solo piano competitions, Thomas Steigerwald made his orchestral debut at age 18 with the San Antonio Symphony, performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major. After receiving his Master’s of Music from the Juilliard School, Steigerwald now lives in Miami Beach, performing both orchestral and chamber music with the New World Symphony. He recently gave a concert of four newly commissioned solo piano and chamber pieces.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I love puzzles, chess, and complex board games.
What has been the best meal of your life?
A Shrimp Boil that my brother’s mother-in-law made, with sausage, corn, bread, jumbo shrimp, little russet potatoes, and peach cobbler after.
