What inspired you to become a musician?

My mother, who is a cellist and was a member of the Puerto Rico Symphony for over 40 years.

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:

I love the tone poems of Richard Strauss, the beautiful melodies, vivid story telling and lush orchestration always makes me emotional.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?

I love to juggle! My siblings and I learned when we were teenagers, and its something I still enjoy immensely.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?

I love going for walks, particularly in nature when I find that chance!

Why did you choose the NRO?

I chose to apply to NRO because it seems like the ideal environment for me to spend my summer: immersed in music, surround by nature and with so many opportunities to grow! As I pursue a career as an orchestral musician, programs like NRO gives me the experience of preparing a lot of orchestral repertoire on a week by week basis. Also, I’ve always wanted to explore Colorado!
