What inspired you to become a musician?
I just remember that when I was in school, I would always choose music and violin classes over other activities I was involved in. But I think the moment I realized that I wanted to become a musician was when I attended my first music festival when I was 17 years old.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Rachmaninoff Symphony 2. First piece I performed in a summer festival with an excellent group of musicians.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I love playing Venezuelan music in the violin. I enjoy making arrangements by ear (since there are not many written arrangements for violin).
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Watch movies and cook with friends.
Why did you choose the NRO?
I have heard that this is a very intense and high level orchestra program, which I would love to experience. At this point in my career I am playing in a lot of regional orchestras, so I am used to regularly playing concerts, but I want to experience what a more professional rhythm and environment would be like.
