What inspired you to become a musician?
I’ve always loved music! When I was 6, I remember wanting to be the next Hannah Montana and writing songs for my best friend at school!
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Beethoven, Stravinsky, Debussy, and Esperanza Spalding. To me, these artists all represent artistic freedom and melody in a way that changed the game!
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I didn’t have my first private lesson teacher until college- but I had a great band director!
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Probably read a great book in a scenic outdoor area.
Why did you choose the NRO?
This seemed like a beautiful opportunity to spend a summer in my favorite balance- nature, performing, making new friends! I have been itching to spend more time playing with a great orchestral rep and this is the place to do it. I’m so excited to learn and grow in such a an incredible environment. Personally , this is the perfect next step for me, as I feel a great need to learn more about orchestral section playing and this would be one big masterclass in that for a whole summer!
