What inspired you to become a musician?
I thought band sounded like a fun thing to try in 5th grade. Since then, I’ve had many incredibly inspiring teachers.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Sibelius, Prokofiev 5, Mahler 4, Bruckner 7, La Mer, and Reich
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I played trombone for all of one day in 5th grade, then quickly decided that percussion was a better choice for me.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I enjoy traveling, being outside, hiking, and spending time with my two dogs at home.
Why did you choose the NRO?
I chose NRO because I love playing in an orchestra. I also love nature and the mountains, so this seems like the perfect place to be! I’m excited to play so much great music this summer.
