What inspired you to become a musician?
My sisters both inspired me after they began playing the violin and I ended up discovering a strong passion for making music.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
I love the music of Gustav Mahler. He is so good at effectively conveying such strong emotions.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
As a trumpet player you have to be able to play over 5 different types of trumpets.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love to spend time with others and do physical activities like running or going to the gym.
Why did you choose the NRO?
I chose NRO because it offers such a great opportunity to perform a lot of the greatest orchestral repertoire, and gives me valuable performance experience. I want to perform as a professional musician in an orchestra, so being able to perform this much repertoire over the summer allows me to gain more confidence performing, and directly aligned with my career goals.
