What inspired you to become a musician?

I grew up in a very musically talented family! Both of my parents play a variety of instruments and seeing my brother take on percussion as I was growing up inspired me to become a musician. I originally began as a pianist but when I began middle school I started trumpet and have not looked back!

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:

I love Tchaikovsky, especially his Fifth Symphony. The emotion, character, and romance in his writing appeal to me!

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?

I grew up singing and playing Polka music with my family’s polka band(s)!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?

I love to run on scenic trails or read thriller novels!

Why did you choose the NRO?

I wanted to gain more performance experience surrounded by talented and hard-working individuals in a fast-paced yet rewarding environment! What a great way to advance my career and prepare me for a job in an orchestra someday.
