What inspired you to become a musician?
My inspiration to become a musician grew from my love of expressing emotion through music. As I continued studying the viola, I became fascinated by the depth and color of the instrument and the collaborative nature of making music with others. Performing and sharing music with audiences has continued to motivate me to grow as a musician.

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Maurice Ravel. I am especially drawn to the rich colors and unique textures in his music. His ability to create vivid atmospheres through orchestration and harmony is fascinating to me. I also admire how his music balances elegance and complexity, which makes performing and listening to it both challenging and inspiring.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
A fun fact about me is that I chose the viola because I was drawn to its warm, rich sound. I love how the viola often plays an inner voice in music, connecting harmony and melody. For me, it feels like being at the heart of the ensemble.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
When I take a break from music-making, I enjoy solving puzzles and trying delicious desserts. I find puzzles relaxing and satisfying, and I love exploring new dessert spots or treats.

Why did you choose the NRO?
I chose to attend the National Repertory Orchestra because of its strong focus on intensive orchestral training and collaboration with talented musicians from around the world. As a violist, I am eager to deepen my orchestral experience and challenge myself through a demanding rehearsal and performance schedule. I believe this experience will help me grow both musically and professionally as I continue working toward a future career as an orchestral musician.
