What inspired you to become a musician?

I first became captivated by the oboe in second grade after hearing its portrayal in Peter and the Wolf. Inspired by its distinctive voice, I picked up the oboe in seventh grade band class and have been playing it ever since.

Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:

Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5, for its emotional depth and because performing it was a pivotal moment in my musical journey.

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?

In addition to being a musician, I’m also a photographer. Reach out if you need headshots!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?

I enjoy running, going for hikes, and being in nature.

Why did you choose the NRO?

I chose NRO for the opportunity to immerse myself in a wide range of challenging and inspiring repertoire. I’m excited to collaborate with talented musicians while performing in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
