Bio:
Elise Haukenes is a triple-threat of boundless creative proportions. She is an award-bearing violinist, nationally-ranked gymnast, and acclaimed dancer. This young artist has been top prizewinner in several concerto competitions, invited to perform at Carnegie Hall and premier newly commissioned work at the Kennedy Center. Deeply captivated by the relationship between music and movement, Elise is passionate about telling meaningful stories and impacting audiences through interdisciplinary works.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I’m obsessed with all things Trader Joes related! I try to collect TJ reusable bags from each state I visit and also like to see if there are any new stickers at the registers when I check out.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love taking ballet and contemporary classes, exploring whatever city I’m in, finding good coffee shops, and scrapbooking/painting!

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Making music with incredibly talented peers and exploring the mountains!
