Bio:
Raised in Pueblo West, Colorado, Colby Kleven began his Bachelor of Music studies at the Juilliard School in 2020 under the guidance of preeminent chamber musician Eric Reed. A regular orchestral performer, Colby has played under conductors such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Barbara Hannigan, Larry Livingston, and David Robertson. He also composes original works for brass, and arranges classical, soundtrack, and popular music.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I used to play jazz trombone!

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Eating, talking walks, video games

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Playing music I’ve never played before with new colleagues! There’s so much cool music out there, and I’m excited to get to play more of it. Likewise, there are so many cool people out there that do what I do, and I get to meet more of them this summer.
