Bio:
Anna is a Masters student at the University of Maryland, College Park where she studies with Dr. James Stern and Dr. Irina Muresanu. She is a Graduate Assistant in the Dean’s Office working for the Arts for All initiative. Anna plays with the Illuminos Quartet and various other ensembles in the DC area. She has performed at the Aspen Music Festival and the American Institute of Musical Studies Opera and Orchestra Festival in Graz, Austria. In her spare time Anna enjoys traveling and painting.

What inspired you to become a musician?
My mother is a professional violinist. She is an incredible role model and has been an excellent mentor and teacher throughout my life.

Who are your all-time favorite composers and/or pieces? Why?
My favorite composers include Mahler, Beethoven, and Prokofiev but I am not one to usually pick favorites. This list changes almost every day!

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I play on a German violin by S. Niggel made in 1780.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love baking and exploring new restaurants and sights around D.C.

Why did you choose the NRO?
This summer I am excited to perform with incredible colleagues and play a diverse amount of phenomenal repertoire!
