What inspired you to become a musician?
During Middle School, playing violin and piano was my hobby. One day I stumbled across a youtube video where the string players performed music by Piazzolla and they looked very passionate and happy. They seemed to be having the time of their lives. I was captivated and was confident to commit my life in being in that position as a musician. (The fact that I needed to convince my parents was something I was unaware at the time.)
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Very hard to narrow it down but Ravel, Mahler, and Bach are my all time top choices. There are a lot of composers that move my heart but these 3 composers are exceptionally other worldly to me.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
My violin is a modern violin made by Felix Krafft from Germany. It was made in 2016 and I acquired it in 2017. I like to think that I am her whole world since her creation.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love to walk with my dog, shop at thrift stores, and discover local eateries
Why did you choose the NRO?
I love the strong and versatile program in NRO. The repertoire is incredible and I am very excited to play amazing works. I am also very looking forward to connect with other amazing musicians. As a growing orchestra player, I believe that my experience in NRO will cultivate my musicianship to another level.
