What inspired you to become a musician?
I wish I could say something inspirational but my parents (musicians) handed me a violin when I was 3 and that was that.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Mahler, Strauss, and Prokofiev. Hard to explain why, I just love their distinct orchestral styles!
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I grew up on an organic family farm
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Something crafty (or playing Stardew Valley)
Why did you choose the NRO?
The first time I attended NRO in 2022, I was drawn to the experience of performing as much great orchestral repertoire as possible in an 8-week festival, and getting a taste of a professional orchestra schedule. This summer, I'm excited to have the added responsibility of co-leading the orchestra, which will be a valuable learning experience for my future goal of being a full-time orchestral musician. I would also be lying if I didn't include being in Breckenridge all summer as a bonus!
