What inspired you to become a musician?
I watched the New Years Vienna Philharmonic concert with my mom growing up on TV, and music of different genres was always playing in some way shape or form, so I knew I loved music and wanted to engage with it from the start.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
I love Shostakovich and Rebecca Clarke. Their pieces always resonate with me emotionally in some way or take me on a journey.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I am Albanian-American, and my viola’s name is Vivi.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I enjoy being outdoors, reading, and spending time with loved ones.
Why did you choose the NRO?
This will be my second summer at NRO. I loved my experience here last summer, along with the friendships I made, and I love playing music in an intensive and beautiful environment with others who are just as passionate about it. The repertoire this summer is incredible and includes several pieces I have always wanted to play, and I believe that learning music in this way can only aid you in your orchestral knowledge and prepare you for being a performing musician in any capacity.
