Alexandra (Alex) McGuire is pursuing her Master of Music in Flute Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying under Mary Kay Fink and Jessica Sindell. Outside of her studies, Alexandra spends most of her time performing and teaching, serving as a substitute flutist/piccoloist for CityMusic Cleveland, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and the Mansfield Symphony, and teaching flute and piano lessons at Fairmount Center for the Arts.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
When I get the chance to, I enjoy taking aerial yoga classes.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Some of my favorite things to do are read a book, play board games, and tend to my plants!

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I am hoping to learn a lot of new orchestral repertoire and to improve my orchestral playing!
