What inspired you to become a musician?
My dad! He is a middle school band director and trombone player. He was always a big inspiration to me growing up.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Brahms' chamber and concerto works. I also love the scores of John Williams; they are a big reason why I decided to play the horn.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
In addition to horn, I also studied Sociology during my undergraduate years.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
I love cooking, reading, and being active outdoors! I've also been playing the Sims a lot recently…
Why did you choose the NRO?
There's so much repertoire that I have yet to be exposed to, and I'm beyond excited to dive into a rigorous summer of music making. There's no other place that matches the fast pace of a professional orchestra, and I'm sure it will challenge me to be efficient and flexible. Also, getting to spend the summer in Breckenridge is the cherry on top- I love the mountains!
