What inspired you to become a musician?
My high school band director pushed me to apply myself more in my musical studies, which helped lead me to the position I am in today. I am very grateful he did.
Name your favorite composers and/or pieces:
Mahler’s 5th Symphony (obviously), Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben.
What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
My goal is to hike at least 4 14ers this summer.
When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Hands-down, cycling. If you hang in Breckenridge long enough this summer, you’ll see me on my bike.
Why did you choose the NRO?
Being in my Master’s it makes sense to learn as much of the repertoire as possible and returning to the NRO is a great way to do so when not in school for the summer. My goal is to play with an orchestra full time and being a part of the NRO can help me get there.
