Bio:
Aaron Lockhart is a Las Vegas-born Viola player pursuing his Masters degree in Viola Performance under Erika Eckert at the University of Colorado Boulder. Lockhart completed his undergraduate degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. While at the conservatory, he studied under Madeline Prager and Jay Liu. During his free time, Mr. Lockhart loves to bike, hike, run, and do anything that involves the outdoors. Lockhart is a full time member of the Boise Philharmonic as of September 2023.

What inspired you to become a musician?
Making wonderful and impactful connections with audiences and patrons of all different walks of life.

Who are your all-time favorite composers and/or pieces? Why?
Hindemith, Bach, Rachmaninoff

What is an interesting fact about you and/or your instrument?
I’m fluent in Mandarin/Chinese.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Move! Let it be running, biking, swimming, skiing. All the fun things outdoors!

Why did you choose the NRO?
The wonderful and amazing summer in Summit County along with music making to the highest degree with people who ALL want to be there.
