Eri IsomuraA native of Minnesota, Eri grew up playing piano, drums, marimba and percussion. She attended St. Olaf College and earned a Bachelor of Music in percussion performance with distinction, and recently completed her Master of Music in percussion performance at The Boston Conservatory. While on the East Coast, she was a member of the New England Philharmonic, the timpanist for the Refugee Orchestra Project, performed for the new music initiative “Times Two Series” in Boston. Last summer she also performed in Inuksuit – a percussion piece written for the outdoors – at the Tippett Rise Music Festival, Bravo! Vail Music Festival, and Aspen Music Festival.

Since 2011, Eri has served as a library assistant to the Minnesota Orchestra. She is looking forward to taking on the role of librarian of the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra beginning Fall 2017. In addition, she is an active teacher and performer throughout the Twin Cities area, is currently working on a recording project with her father, Sachiya Isomura, a cellist in the Minnesota Orchestra, and regularly performs recitals to benefit Compassion and Mercy Associates, who is aiding Syrian refugees in Jordan.
